Genus Brusinia

Surface of carapace smooth and glabrous; front broader than fourth the greatest breadth of carapace; 4 antero-lateral teeth. Basal antennal joint cylindrical, no spinules; flagellum in the orbital hiatus, transverse. Chelipeds moderately massive, shorter than any of the first three pairs of legs; fingers shorter than palm. Dactyl of swimming leg oval, rounded at tip. (Türkay 1995)

Carapace subelliptical to subquadrilateral, longer than wide; front lamellar, trilobate and projecting; antero-lateral margin shorter than postero-lateral, with 3 teeth besides exorbital angle. Basal antennal article cylindrical. Chelipeds large; ambulatory legs stout, shorter then chelipeds; first three pairs with dactylus elongated, compressed, fifth pair forming elongate paddle.
