Genus Trigonoplax

H. Milne Edwards, 1853

Carapace, including rostrum, approximately triangular, its dorsal surface without well defined grooves. Rostrum rounded triangular, continuous with carapace surface. Epistome very long and bulging. Milne Edwards apertures fused laterally for more than half their length. Third maxillipeds broad, almost completely filling the mouth field. Chelipeds not thicker than ambulatory legs, similar in both sexes. Male 1st pleopod curved, bearing a subterminal row of long setae. (Türkay 1995)

Type species: Ocypode (Elamene) unguiformis de Haan, 1839, by monotypy.
