This form was originally figured by de Haan on pl. 22, fig. 2 and also by Sakai 1938, pl. 33, fig. 4 and 1965, pl. 43, figs 2, 3. Specimens of this form have abundantly been obtained from Sagami Bay, Izu Peninsula, Mikawa Bay and Tosa Bay. The carapace and chelipeds are covered with rather smooth tubercles of almost equal size and appearance; no specially enlarged tubercles. Chelipeds are very slender and the propodus not markedly thickened or broadened distally. Teeth of the antero-lateral borders are tuberculiform, less markedly lacinated. Ambulatory legs are compressed, the merus, carpus and propodus being carinated on anterior and posterior borders. (Sakai, 1976: 269)
