Chasmagnathus convexus

(de Haan, 1833)

Carapace somewhat oval shaped, with three broad teeth on lateral margin. Suborbital ridge in males and females consisting of an elongate crest with a row of tubercles at its median part, 4 elongate, longitudinally concave, continuous crests, and 5 large or small rounded tubercles at their lateral part. Third maxilliped narrow, merus much longer than broad. Cheliped homochelous in males, and heterochelous in females, chelae longer than high. Second to fifth pereiopods with carpi bearing a velvet of dense hairs on dorsal parts, as well as dorsal parts of propodi. (Türkay 1995)
