(White, 1847)
Scarcely any indications of a postfrontal crest exist in this species, but the protogastric prominences are obscurely developed. Ordinarily there is no lateral epibranchial tooth, the antero-lateral margins of the carapace being simply granulated, but occasionally, as in the specimen collected near Lake Biwa, it is distinctly defined (Miers, 1886: 215). This species is different from Geothelphusa marmorata Suzuki & Okano, 2000 from Yaku-shima, Kagoshima Pref. Kyushu, Japan in eye colouration, the carapace with stout gastric cristae, a deep H-shaped median gastro-cardiac depression, and the form of male pleopods. (Suzuki H. & Okano, 2000)
