Pilumnus dofleini

The carapace of this species is markedly convex, covered with velvety tomentum, each region sparingly studded with rounded tubercles. The propodus of the chelipeds is furnished with longitudinal rows of spinules and no longish hairs. The ambulatory legs are rather slender, unarmed, both the anterior and posterior borders of each segment are sparingly haired. (Sakai, 1965)

Type locality: Sagami Bay, Japan.
Range: Japan - Sagami Bay (Balss, 1933b, Sakai, 1965b), Sagami Bay and Shima Peninsula (Sakai, 1976a), Tosa Bay (Miyake, 1983); off Izu Is. (Ng, 2000); depth 85-230 m.
