Xanthias cherbonnieri

Small size species. Dorsal surface of the carapace finely granular and with a reticulation of chiefly yellowish lines designating the regions. Behind the exorbital angle, four antero-lateral teeth which are subtriangular, the first and last smaller than the other two. Chelipeds unequal, without a defined furrow near the superior margin of the external face of palm. In males black pigmentation on the fixed finger of the palm chiefly extending onto the palm; carpus with a series (10-12) of tubercles on the supero-external face. Ambulatory legs with sparse setae. Type locality: Aldabra Island, 20 m.
Range: Aldabra Island (Guinot, 1964b); Réunion (Serène, 1984); Japan - Ogasawara-shoto (Takeda, 1977a).
