Atergatis granulatus

de Man, 1889

The carapace has neither traces of teeth nor a crest at the epibranchial angle marking the junction of the antero- and postero-lateral margins. The chelipeds have the crest on the superior margin blunt or absent. The carapace has the dorsal surface strongly convex both longitudinally and transversely and entirely granular; it is transversely oval in outline; the antero-lateral margins are without a crest and form a regular convexity with the postero-lateral margins. The chelipeds have the apices of the fingers blunt and the cutting margin is regularly dentate. The colouration is white-grayish-yellow with a large reddish spot on the cardio-gastric region.
