Banareia banareias

(Rathbun, 1911)

Carapace not globose, about 1.5 times broader than long. After denuding, regions appearing incompletely defined and furnished with sparse granules. Granules on frontal lobes and supraorbital and antero-lateral margins, some granules being larger, in particular four on the antero-lateral margin. Entire body thickly covered with a coat of long tubular setae; characteristic radiating tufts of setae arising from the large, rounded, visible granules. Antero-lateral margins indistinctly divided and without traces of furrows separating the lobes. External surface of palm furnished with coarse granules; fingers flat, cultriform, and acute, with some proximal denticles on the cutting margin. Ambulatory legs with numerous setae, similar to those on the carapace; dactyli terminating in a corneous, fine, long claw. (Guinot 1998)
