Carapace moderately broad (CB/CL about 1.28), granulation moderately developed in most of the carapace surface; two oval, translucent areas with smooth surface and remarkably thin cuticle on posterior half of carapace; antero-lateral teeth sharp, narrow based and broadly separated; pterygostomial region with distinct but narrow stridulating ridge composed of striae. Chelipeds subequal, relatively long and thin; distal part of anterior border of merus with 2-5 large spines; inner spine of carpus moderately robust; palm slightly swollen, lower border with granules tending towards a squamiform pattern. Carina on anterior border of carpus of swimming leg projecting slightly at distal end. (Türkay 1995)
