Halicarcinus orientalis

Carapace rounded, with a distinct marginal rim, no teeth on lateral walls; rostrum distinctly trilobate, median lobe subequal to lateral ones, concavities delimiting lobes deep, reaching nearly to carapace rim. Chelipeds much heavier than ambulatory legs, but not as long as those; palm swollen. Second to fifth pereiopods slender, meri with an acute terminal spine; dactyli with one subterminal tooth, otherwise undentate. Male abdomen without fused segments. (Türkay 1995)

Range: Japan - Ise Bay (Sakai, 1932), Shimoda (Sakai, 1935), Ise Bay, Tateyama Bay, Misaki and Shimoda (Sakai, 1938a), Sagami Bay (Sakai, 1965b), Tokyo Bay, Sagami Bay, Izu Peninsula, and Ise Bay (Sakai, 1976a), Hachijo-jima (Takeda et al., 1976b), Nanki Shirahama (Miyake, 1983), Hakodate (Komai et al., 1992), Tosashimizu (Muraoka, 1998), Nagasaki.
