Upper orbital hiatus U-shaped or keyhole-shaped; lower orbital hiatus broad U-shaped; lateral margin of basal antennal article with antero-lateral lobe narrow (or lacking); anterior half of branchial region with at least one dorsal tubercle; urogastric region with a wide tubercle; mesogastric and protogastric regions with six prominent tubercles arranged in a `Y'. Type locality: East Indies.
Range: Pakistan - Jiwani, Karachi, and Port Bin Qasim (Tirmizi & Kazmi, 1991); South India; Sri Lanka - (Alcock, 1895a), Galle and Pearl Banks (Griffin & Tranter, 1986a); Mergui Archipelago (Alcock, 1895a); Korea - Inch'on (Kamita, 1941); China - Qingdao (Shen, 1932), Guangdong, Fujian and Jiaozhou (Dai & Yang, 1991); Singapore; Indonesia - Ambon (de Man, 1887d), Timor.
