Surface of carapace generally granulate, mesogastric and protogastric regions with spiniform tubercles, supraocular region without spine; interantennular spine about double size of rostral spines. Basal antennal article with three tubercles. Chelipeds very stout, chela extremely broadened and ornamented with several rows of long spines. Second pereiopod spinulous on both sides of all joints, spines of dorsal face extremely developed; merus of third pereiopod with numerous spines on upper face, lower face without spines, propodus with spines on upper face, dactyl with low spines; fourth pereiopod with spinules only in the proximal two thirds of the upper border of merus, otherwise generally unarmed. Fifth pereiopod generally unarmed. First segment of male abdomen provided with three blunt spines. (Türkay 1995)
