Achaeus curvirostris

(A. Milne Edwards, 1873)

Postorbital neck long, its lateral margin with one to five spinules, carapace constricted behind supraorbital eave, this last one with one large spine, hepatic region weakly produced, its margin without anterior spine, apex with one spine, sometimes two additional smaller ones. Eyestalk moderately long with only a weak constriction and a well developed, narrow anterior tubercle. Basal antennal article only reaching three quarters of antennular fossa, one long spine at distal two thirds. Cheliped of adult male with merus trigonal, stoutness uniformly increasing distally; fixed finger of chela with moderately large proximal teeth close together. Third segment of male abdomen laterally spinulous. (Türkay 1995)
