Genus Paracleistostoma

de Man, 1895

Carapace broader than long, quadrangular in outline. Dorsal surface flat, lacking ridges, with only H-shaped groove, hairy or glabrous. Antero-lateral margins distinctly cristate, entire, lacking teeth. Chelipeds equal, but showing a marked sexual dimorphism; dactylus with molariform tooth on cutting edge. Ambulatory legs short, robust, lacking spines on merus. Male abdomen showing no constrictions, second to fifth segments fused, completely covering male gonopods. G1 strongly recurved, bulbously widened apically. (Guinot 1998)
