Genus Menaethius

H. Milne Edwards, 1834

Carapace subtriangular. Branchial regions with rounded elevations or flat. Rostrum process as a long and slender stylus, horizontally compressed, basally narrow or broad, bifid at tip. Preorbital spines acuminate. Postorbital spine indistinct. Ambulatory legs carinate or not. Male abdomen with all segments distinct. Female abdomen with five segments. (Guinot 1998)

Type species: Pisa monoceros Latreille, 1825, by monotypy.
