Lateral margins with very strong spines, two hepatic and three branchial. Posterior margin with two spines. Rostral spines extremely long and projecting forwards and divergent. Postorbital lobe remote from eyestalks. Supraocular eave extremely dilated and expanded laterally, forming a tubular prolongation, ventrally hollowed and opened, armed with a spine at posterior end. Eyestalks very long. G1 very unusual. (Guinot 1998)
