Fronto-orbital width greater or smaller than half maximum breadth of carapace. Female abdomen with five or six segments, much enlarged, convex and with curved borders; Pl 1 either present (vestigial) or absent; pleopods 2-5 ventrally articulated at the surface of the abdomen. Male abdomen with four or six segments plus the telson. Propodus and dactylus of P2-P3 without rows of setae. (Guinot 1998)
