Small animals. Eyestalks not extended beyond cornea. Exorbital corner acute, antero-laterally directed. Stridulating ridge on inner surface of palm of major chela composed of about 44-57 narrow striae, overreaching ventrally the midline of immovable finger. Small chela with tip rounded to truncate. Anterior faces of propodi of second and third pereiopods with a longitudinal row of hairs in midline. Male first pleopod slender, its distal part slightly tapering, clearly bent laterally, palp small and knob-shaped, very much behind tip. Opercle of female genital duct prominent, knob-shaped, vulva-opening oblique with respect to median line of sternum, clearly impressed, lateral rims not elevated. (Türkay 1995)
