Dorsal surface of carapace entirely covered with `very beautiful squamae'; three antero-lateral teeth (including postorbital spine). Ventral surfaces of body and legs with transverse impressed lines and scroll-like patterns. Merus of ambulatory legs armed on upper surface with a median subdistal and two distal spines in triangular arrangements and with two fringes of hair on upper surface and lower lateral margins. First male pleopod with long twisted apical process. (Davie 1997)

Type locality: Manihi, Tuamotu Archipelago.
Range: Taiwan; Tuamotu Archipelago - (Ortmann, 1894a), Manihi (Dana, 1852), Makatea (Sendler, 1923).
