Helice subquadrata

Carapace without any notch behind third antero-lateral tooth. Suborbital ridge heteromorphic in both sexes, in male knotted with four striate crests in its lateral half and 10 interspaced protuberances in its mesial half, in female with a row of 12 striate crests in its lateral half, including two simple granules at its lateral end, and a row of six slightly elongate granules in its median half. Proximal part of third maxilliped and adjoining part of sternum densely hirsute. Cheliped palm with inner surface with a short carina bearing denticles near to the articulation with the carpus, punctuate roughly on external surface, setae at base of fingers poorly developed. Second to fourth pereiopods with hairy velvet in dorsal parts of carpi and propodi, absent in fifth. (Türkay 1995)
