Neosarmatium punctatum

Side of carapace with one or two antero-lateral teeth (second usually reduced to an angular projection). Dactyl of male cheliped with 2 strong chitinous teeth on dorsal margin; distal tooth placed clearly less than half-way to the tip; longitudinal rim present on upper surface of palm of cheliped but not strongly differentiated. Inner surface of palm with a strongly raised, granular, vertical crest. Carapace 1.25-1.35 times longer than wide. (Davie 1996)

Type locality: New Caledonia.
Range: Taiwan - Ping-tung County (Ng et al., 1997); New Caledonia (A. Milne Edwards, 1873, Davie, 1994).
