Episesarma lafondi

(Jacquinot & Lucas, 1853)

The apex of the anterior pleopod of male is divided into two parts, the one obtusely expanded and rounded, the other projecting into a chitinous long process with an accessory spinule at its outer base. The number of tubercles on the dactylus of the largest male is 118-119; in another large one, it is 108-109 and the medium-sized one 98-99. Thus the number of tubercles seems to be different by age. The abdomen of male is very broad. (modified after Sakai, 1976)
