Dorsal surface of carapace entirely smooth (shining). Lateral border of carapace slightly divergent backward. Outer surface of palm of cheliped finely granulate. No trace of epibranchial tooth. Merus of fourth pereiopod 3 times as long as broad. (Davie 1997)
Type locality: China Sea.
Range: Japan; China - China Sea (H. Milne Edwards, 1834), Hong Kong (Stimpson, 1907, Shen, 1931, 1940b), Guangdong, Fujian and Zhejiang (Dai & Yang, 1991).
