Durckheimia caeca

Dorsal surface of carapace characteristic; lateral margins rolled up, so that carapace similar to a flat roof which surrounded marginally with an enclosed wall, and divided medially by a reef into left and right parts. Carapace slightly broader than long, and not setose. P1 very slender; chela three times as long as high; slender, directed fingers half length of chela. P2-5 slender, almost same in length. Propodus of third maxilliped triangular, distally tapering. Dactylus slender, inserted medially on mesial surface of propodus, proximally as broad as its tip, and not overreaching propodus; endopod of ischium - merus largely concave mesially, and protruded on distal fourth of lateral margin. No eyestalk, admittable as a small cornea. (K. Sakai after Bürger, 1895: 385)
