The frontal and antero-lateral margins of the carapace are feebly spinosed but, behind the frontal submedian lobes, there are always some spines. The anterior margin of the buccal cavity has only denticles. The sternal plastron projects between the bases of the third maxillipeds as a short, less acute point. The merus of the fourth ambulatory legs is spinose only on the distal third of the anterior margin. (Serène, 1984)
