Echinoecus pentagonus

(A. Milne Edwards, 1879)

Carapace as long as broad, the dorsal surface even and glabrous but everywhere pitted, the regions being entirely obliterated. The rostrum almost half as long as the width at base, its tip very faintly marked by an indentation. The antero-lateral border is rather concave and shorter than the postero-lateral border; no produced tooth between the two borders.
The arm of chelipeds compressed and its dorsal and ventral borders medially armed with a lobule, the wrist with a minute denticle on the upper surface near the base and a larger tooth at the inner angle. The upper border of palm is not markedly carinated. Ambulatory legs are less markedly compressed and unarmed, the surface of each segment being minutely pitted. (Sakai, 1938: 349)
