The antero-lateral margins of the carapace have, behind the exorbital angles, four teeth not separated by smaller intercalated teeth. The margins of these teeth are usually smooth but can be furnished with spinules or even denticles. The frontal lobes have the anterior margins feebly sinuous. The dactylus of the cheliped is slightly recurved distally. The chelipeds are slightly unequal; in males the combined length of the carpus+propodus+dactylus of the larger cheliped is less or, at the most, subequal to the maximum width of the carapace; the length of the superior margin of the palm is equal to one and a half times the width of the palm and equal to the length of the dactylus. The smaller chelipeds is of about the same proportions but with a comparatively shorter palm. The carapace is without particular ornamentation on the summit of the region L. (Serène, 1984)
