Carapace relatively narrow, the length/breadth ratio being 1.5 or 1.6. Dorsal surface markedly convex. Regions of carapace separated by shallow and narrow grooves; surface uniformly, thickly covered with coarse granules, more or less of the same size: two hepatic tubercles, one intestinal, one branchial, two near posterior border. Antero-lateral margins obtusely lobed. A granulate process on each side of the first abdominal segment. (Guinot 1998)
