Cyclax suborbicularis

(Stimpson, 1857)

Intercalated spine distally with three subequal spinules; basal antennal article with a strong accessory spine between antero-lateral and antero-medial spines; marginal spines of carapace granular almost to tip. (Davie 1996)

Type locality: Gaspar Strait.
Range: Red Sea (Klunzinger, 1906); Zanzibar (Lenz, 1905); Seychelles - Praslin and Coëtivy Islands (Rathbun, 1911); Mauritius (Bouvier, 1915b, Michel, 1964, Griffin & Tranter, 1986a); India - Madras coast (Alcock, 1895a); Chagos Archipelago (Rathbun, 1911); Sri Lanka; Andaman Islands (Alcock, 1895a); Japan - Amami-Oshima, Yoron and Ishigaki-jima (Sakai, 1976a); Taiwan; China - Paracel Island (Chen H., 1980b), Hainan Island (Dai & Yang, 1991); Indonesia - Gaspar Strait (Stimpson, 1907); New Caledonia (A. Milne Edwards, 1872); Fiji; Samoa; Tahiti; shallow waters.
