Carapace surface smooth or finely granular; protogastric spines of extreme length, greatly overreaching all other spines and generally produced forward or obliquely forward beyond margin of carapace, posterior mesogastric spine without a flanking spine or tubercle; supraorbital eave unarmed; rostral spines long, largely overreaching the interantennular one; pterygostomial region flat and on the lateral margin there is only a weak ridge with scattered granules, up to four tubercles, some high, an a short posterior spine. Antennal peduncle cylindrical, basal article with four spines, one medial and three on the lateral margin. (Türkay 1995)

Type locality: near Talaud Islands, between Philippines and Molucca Sea, 4°33'N, 127°6'E, "Challenger" stn 214, 900 m.
