Surface of carapace with a large number of long anteriorly directed spines, the ones on the gastric and cardiac regions are especially well developed, supraocular region without a spine; interantennular spine at least four times as long as rostral spines. Basal antennal article with numerous acute or rounded spinules of various sizes. Cheliped of male broader than that of female but never particularly stout. Second to fifth pereiopods particularly long and slender and provided with spines, meri cylindrical, propodi broadened but not remarkably flattened, all margins with spinules and besides this also the faces even in the last two pairs. First segment of male abdomen with a median spine and small spinules in its vicinity at both sides. (Türkay 1995)
