Achaeus lacertosus

Stimpson, 1857

Carapace smooth, without tubercles or spines; regions generally ill defined except branchial and cardiac ones, hepatic lobe strongly produced outwards and markedly convex; supraorbital eave generally unarmed, sometime with minute spinules along margin; rostrum deeply divided by a V-shaped notch, apically rounded, most of the margin spinulous, rostral spines very short, rounded apically. Basal antennal article unarmed. Ischium and merus of third maxilliped generally smooth, spine-rows along inner edges present. Cheliped of adult male long, robust, hairy; merus subtrigonal to subcylindrical and very robust, carpus subcylindrical, chela compressed. Dactyls of first two pairs of ambulatory legs slender, those of last two pairs strongly falcate. (Türkay 1995)
