Carapace as broad as long or slightly broader, flattened, all its surface coarsely granular; cervical and branchial grooves well marked. Chelipeds very unequal in larger males (carapace length > 15 mm); outer surface of palm and carpus granular, fingers smooth. Second and third pereiopods long, merus shorter than carapace, with merus and carpus coarsely granular, and merus, carpus, and propodus pubescent. (Türkay 1995)
