Cryptodromia fukuii

(Sakai, 1936)

Carapace smooth, significantly wider than long, antero-lateral borders armed with three unequal tubercles, lateral cardiac grooves deeply marked. Rostrum blunt, lateral rostral teeth more prominent than median tooth. An epipod present on cheliped. Outer face of palm of cheliped minutely denticulated. Distal margins of carpi and propodi of second and third pereiopods lobed. Fourth and fifth abdominal segments bearing a tubercle near their posterior border. (Türkay 1995)

Type locality: Shimoda, Japan.
Range: Japan - Shimoda and Tateyama Bay (Sakai, 1936c), Hachijo-jima (Sakai, 1954), Sagami Bay (Sakai, 1965b), Sagami Bay, Kii Nagashima and Kii Minabe (Sakai, 1976a), Tobishima, Yamagata Prefecture (Suzuki S., 1979), Kii Nagashima (Miyake, 1983), Shimoda, Hayama and Haha-jima, Ogasawara-shoto (Muraoka, 1998), Amami-Oshima (Ortmann, 1892), off Matsuyama, Seto Inland Sea (Takeda et al., 2000); Taiwan; New Caledonia (McLay, 1993); shallow waters.
