Dromia dormia

(Linnaeus, 1763)

Carapace much wider than long, strongly convex; antero-lateral borders armed with four teeth, the third of which is very small and close to the second; cardiac, branchial and frontal grooves shallow. Rostrum tridentate, median tooth large, blunt, and extending further than lateral ones. Chelipeds massive, outer face of palm inflated, inner superior margin with four tubercles. Second and third pereiopods shorter than chelipeds, distal borders of carpi produced as rounded lobes. (Türkay 1995)
