Carapace hexagonal. Antero-lateral margins with three or five teeth. Suborbital margin with inner tooth only. Chelipeds unequal; merus with subdistal spine; carpus with strong inner spine; chelae somewhat portunid-like. Ambulatory legs with naked dactyli, lacking articles expanded for swimming. Male and female abdomens with all segments distinct. Female openings sternal. Male openings coxal. (Guinot 1998)
