Genus Ceratocarcinus

White, 1847

Carapace pentagonal to quadrate. Dorsal surface not distinctly convex; the regions well defined. Antero- and postero-lateral margins clearly demarcated by angle. Antero-lateral margins usually lamelliform, with four teeth, the first three truncate, the last always strong. Chelipeds granular to rugose; carpus usually with spine or tooth on inner angle; chela elongated; fingers not carinate. Ambulatory legs: dactylus of P2 elongated, other articles subcylindrical, not cristate. (Guinot 1998)
