Dorsal regions of the carapace demarcated but incompletely separated; however, 3M always distinctly separated from 2M. Surface naked and covered with flat and confluent tubercles. Antero-lateral margins divided into three rounded anterior lobes with smooth margin, distinct from the rest of the carapace, and a posterior triangular tooth. Chelipeds: outer surface of palm rugose; its upper border crested. Ambulatory legs with high, smooth crests. Toxic crabs. (Guinot 1998)
