Genus Medaeus

Carapace moderately convex dorsally. 4M distinct. Chelipeds subequal. Ambulatory legs not folded into a concavity of the postero-lateral margins; anterior margin of merus with spines. Male abdomen noticeably long; telson subtriangular, shorter than broad at the base. Thoracic sternum relatively narrow anteriorly. (Guinot 1998)
