Genus Iphiculus

Adams & White, 1848

Entire body covered with a soft tomentum. Carapace transversely ovoid. Dorsal surface with intestinal region isolated, circumferenced by a groove. Margins not expanded, with fourteen protuberances and teeth in all: antero-lateral margins armed with four sharp teeth; postero-lateral margins armed with two tubercles; posterior margin with one tubercle on each side. Buccal cavern narrowly triangular. Exopodite of third maxillipeds not broadened, with outer margin not arched. Chelipeds slender; palm short and enormously swollen in its proximal portion; fingers filiform and much longer than palm, their prehensile edges armed with needle-like teeth. (Guinot 1998)
