Carapace subquadrate, longer than wide; orbits absent. Third maxillipeds elongate, completely covering buccal cavity; exopod of third maxilliped with flagellum. Pereiopods without movable articulation between basis and ischium; first two pairs long and thin, subequal; fourth and fifth pereiopods reduced and positioned dorsally. Female with sternal grooves. First abdominal segments visible dorsally; uropods absent. Genital openings coxal, female on third pereiopods, male on fifth pereiopods. (Davie 2002)
