It very closely resembles the young of Pilumnus tomentosus, but the three antero-lateral teeth of the present species are very slender and spiniform; the arm bears one distal and one subdistal spine of a medium size; the carpus and upper surface of propodus have scattered spines instead of tubercles of the other species. The inner angle of the infraorbital margin has the characteristic prominent spine. The merus of the ambulatory legs is armed with a sharp distal spine but the carpus has none. (T. Sakai, 1939: 536)
