(Stimpson, 1858)
The dorsal surface of the carapace and the supero-external surface of the chelipeds appear granular to the unaided eye. The external face of the cheliped palm has a longitudinal furrow. The external face of the cheliped palm has a single furrow. The supero-external surface of the palm and of the carpus of the chelipeds is furnished with large tubercles arranged in rows, forming irregular crests. The chelipeds are noticeably more unequal than is normal for this genus. The carapace has a smooth and polished surface. The four antero-lateral teeth are almost equally prominent. (Serène, 1984)
