Achaeus superciliaris

Surface of carapace spinulous; protogastric and mesogastric regions with a spine, branchial regions with two long spines submedially behind single cardiac spine; margin of supraorbital eave with many blunt spinules, hepatic and branchial margins behind it bearing a great number of spinules; rostral lobes with a few blunt spinules, well separated from each other by a U-shaped notch, tips rounded. Male chelipeds extremely robust, merus proximally broadened and spinulose; carpus short and rounded with a row of strong spines on its inner and outer border; palm moderately swollen; fingers slightly incurved. Meri of ambulatory legs broadened towards their distal ends, with strong spines along their two margins; dactyli of last two pairs curved but not very strongly falcate. (Türkay 1995)
