Genus Tweedieia

Ward, 1934

Dorsal surface of the carapace divided into prominent and projecting regions. 2M and 3M always defined, as usually regions L. Basal article of the antennae without a prolonged antero-lateral external angle, thus orbital hiatus fully open. Antennal flagellum directed backwards freely into the orbital hiatus. Chelipeds relatively short; distal extremities of the merus hardly extending beyond the lateral margins of the carapace; fingers short, very convex and furnished with a brush of setae near the cutting margins. Ambulatory legs short and robust; their merus hardly longer than the maximum breadth. (Guinot 1998)
