Carapace rounded pyriform in outline. Dorsal surface smooth and unarmed, tomentose. Postero-lateral angles not armed with tooth or prolongation. Rostral spines short, well divergent, somewhat ventrally deflexed, the apex upcurved. Preocular tooth distinct. No intercalated spine between supraocular eave and postocular cup. Chelipeds unequal, rather robust, unarmed, tomentose. Ambulatory legs diminishing in length posteriorly, covered with a thick tomentum. Abdomen with all segments distinct in both sexes. G1 straight, tapering only near the apex and with a flap from the lateral margin. (Guinot 1998)
