Carapace bulging, dorsal surface with a number of spines; supraorbital spines very long, bifid at tip; exorbital spines long, directed forwards; rostrum simple. Chelipeds slender, shorter than following ambulatory legs. Merus of second to fifth pereiopods with spines on anterior border, a very prominent one at antero-distal corner. Propodus of fifth pereiopod short, with its proximal or distal portion developed into a long spine forming a long pincer with the long dactylus ("fingers" equal to or much longer than "palm").
