Genus Medaeops

Carapace surface granular, without vermicular erosions. On the dorsal surface of the carapace regions hardly projecting and area 4M not defined. Ambulatory legs relatively short and broad; merus of P5 about three times longer than broad. Male chelipeds weakly unequal, fingers elongate and feebly granular. Thoracic sternum flat. Male abdomen broad, with telson rounded, semicircular. First male pleopod thick, with an incomplete twistening, and ornamented with tubercles on a most part of its length and with long subapical setae. (Guinot 1998)
