Carapace oblong and subquadrangular, furrows well marked; lateral borders with three spinules, first one very near to exorbital tooth, last one at junction of antero- and postero-lateral borders; rostrum tridentate. Flagellum of antenna less than half the length of carapace. Eyestalks short and filiform, cornea also very small. Chelipeds extremely heterochelous in male, right chela much larger and heavier than subsequent ambulatory legs. Second to fifth pereiopods smooth, dactyli styliform. (Türkay 1995)
